What’s New for The 2020 INFINITI QX80?
Originally known as the QX56, the INFINITI QX80 has been around since 2014 and is currently in its second generation of production with the 2020 model year. For this iteration, the QX80 nameplate gets a brand-new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. In addition, the 2020 INFINITI QX80, in general, has significantly more advanced safety features, and a new EDITION 30 package—which includes unique features such as dark chrome finishes, graphite interior pieces, and EDITION 30 badging—celebrate INFINITI’s 30 years of existence.
2020 QX80 Has Abundant Features
The 2020 INFINITI QX80 is split into Luxe and Limited trims. A full-size luxury SUV, the QX80 has three rows of leather-appointed seats that can accommodate up to seven people. Also standard is a 10-way power driver’s seat, an 8-way power front-passenger seat, a driver-side memory system, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, front-seat 2-way power lumbar support and heating ability, and power 60/40 split-folding ability on the third-row seats. At the Limited trim level, INFINITI enhances the QX80 with features such as second-row heating, front-row cooling, a remote tip-up feature on the second-row seats, and two-tone quilted semi-aniline Alcantara leather-appointed seats.
Standard comfort and convenience features at the Luxe trim level include cruise control, tri-zone automatic climate control, a smart key system with push-button engine start, remote engine start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, a center console-located controller for executing infotainment functions, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, a full-color upper 8-inch and lower 7-inch touchscreen display system, voice recognition technology, a 13-speaker Bose stereo system with a single-disc CD/MP3 player and AM/FM radio, three months of SiriusXM Radio and SiriusXM Travel Link, a navigation system with lane guidance and 3D graphics, a USB port and an audio jack for hooking up portable devices, and nine cupholders and four bottle holders.
The Limited stands out with additions and enhancements such as dual 8-inch color monitors for multimedia video playback, a wireless remote control, two wireless headphones with a pair of headphone jacks, HDMI and audio/video USB ports for hooking up DVD entertainment systems, and a 17-speaker Bose Performance Series stereo system.
INFINITI QX80 Performance
The 2020 INFINITI QX80 is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 engine that puts out 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. It is glued to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The Luxe is available as a rear-wheel-drive vehicle or an all-wheel-drive vehicle; all-wheel drive is standard on the Limited.
QX80 Safety In The Forefront
Driver-assistance technologies on the 2020 INFINITI QX80 include predictive forward collision warning, backup collision intervention, and forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Other standard safety and security features on the QX80 include hill start assist, dynamic vehicle control with traction control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, trailer sway control, an automatic collision notification, an emergency call system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, a 360-degree camera, rear door alert, a six-airbag system, and a theft-deterrence system. The Limited stands out with additional features such as intelligent cruise control, distance control assist, blind spot intervention, and lane departure prevention.
