INFINITI Q60

According to a recent report, INFINITI plans to retire the Q60 Coupe in 2023. The automaker is said to be focusing on new models and SUVs, so the Q60 will likely be phased out. The decision to retire the Q60 Coupe is surprising, as it’s still a relatively new model. But it’s not all that surprising considering the current SUV craze. It’s likely that INFINITI is seeing diminishing sales for the Q60 and is looking to shift its focus elsewhere. If you’re a fan of the Q60 Coupe, you’ll want to get your hands on one before it’s too late. The good news is that you still have a few years to do so. But who knows what the automotive landscape will look like by 2023?

Saying Goodbye to the INFINITI Q60
According to Automotive News’ Future Product Pipeline report, the INFINITI Q60 coupe might get the axe in 2023. The luxury two-door is INFINITI’s oldest model and is due for a redesign. Still, it’s being determined whether the company will continue producing it after the update.

INFINITI has been struggling in the U.S. recently, and the Q60 is one of the models dragging down sales. The automaker is also phasing out its smaller sedans. So the Q60 won’t have a place in its lineup anymore.

If the Coupe is discontinued, that will leave INFINITI with just three models: the QX50 crossover, the QX60 crossover, and the Q70 sedan. The company may add a new SUV to its lineup in the next few years, but more is needed.

The 2017 Q60 made its debut, boasting a new twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine making 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet or 400 hp and 350 lb-ft. But, of course, it depended on the trim level. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder was also available with 208 hp and 258 lb-ft. The new Q60 was a big step from the previous model, with a more high-tech interior and a more refined and comfortable ride.
